The Effect of Two Different Attachments with Implant Retained Mandibular Overdentures on the Masticatory Function
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Patients with severely resorbed mandibles often experience problems with their conventional complete dentures especially with regard the mandibular ones. The main complaints of these patients are lack of optimal stability and retention of their mandibular dentures [1]. This in return may negatively affect functional ability such as speech, aesthetics and chewing ability [2,3]. The recent development of Osseo integrated implants has broadened the treatment options that are available to edentulous patients [4]. Patients report positive outcomes in satisfaction, masticatory function and quality of life after receiving implantretained prostheses [5].

متن کاملComparison of the Effect of Ball and Bar Attachment Designs on Retention and Stability of Mandibular Implant-Supported Overdentures
Objectives: The present study evaluated the effect of bar and ball attachment designs on retention and stability of a mandibular overdenture supported by four implants. Methods: An edentulous mandibular acrylic resin model with four implants in the anterior part of the ridge (A, B, D and E) was fabricated. A metal framework simulating the overdenture was also fabricated. Totally, 30...
متن کاملMasticatory function in patients with an extremely resorbed mandible restored with mandibular implant-retained overdentures: comparison of three types of treatment protocols.
The objective of the present study was to analyse the effects of implant supported overdentures on masticatory function in patients with an extremely resorbed mandible, and to compare the masticatory function in these patients using three differing types of implant treatment protocols. The mandibular overdentures were retained by a transmandibular implant, by four endosseous implants following ...
متن کاملMandibular implant-retained overdenture: finite element analysis of two anchorage systems.
Transmission of masticatory load in mandibular implant-retained overdentures was evaluated using a three-dimensional finite element model. The reaction forces on the distal edentulous mucosa and the stress on the perimplant bone were compared in overdentures retained either by two ball attachments or by two clips on a bar connecting two implants. In the finite element model, a 35 N load on the ...

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare Oral Health-Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL), denture satisfaction, and masticatory performance in edentulous patients provided with mandibular implant-supported overdentures (ISODs) retained with telescopic attachments and those of conventional complete dentures (CCDs). Peri-implant soft tissue changes were also evaluated at various...
